Nasi Beringin By Fifty50 Empire
4.7
Nasi Beringin was introduced and made popular back in the 1890s amongst the Johor royalty when Sultan Sir Ibrahim, the second sultan of Johor, often featured this dish in his feasts. It was also known as Nasi Bering Harum which translates to “fragrant beringin rice” and existed in the local food scene back in the 1950s but gradually phased out. Nasi Beringin by Fifty50 Empire intends to change that and reintroduce it back to the Singaporean community. This dish resembles both nasi lemak and biryani rice and is served with fish, squid, prawn, chicken, or beef cooked in rendang, kurma, or masak merah sauce. Head to Toa Payoh Central today to try out some Nasi Beringin.
